Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster Training and Certification
Starting September 2005 California workers’ compensation claims adjusters are required to have minimum years of experience or specific training to be California Dept. of Insurance certified. Every two years a minimum number of continuing education hours must be completed to maintain the certification. Certification is verified and recorded by the employer. (California Insurance Code Section 11761 and California Code of Regulations Section 2592 et seq.)

All IEA workers’ compensation workshops, semester classes, and online programs qualify for pre-and post-certification education

IEA workers’ compensation programs taken within 2 years of September 2005 are eligible for pre-and post-certification requirements.

IEA will provide written confirmation of hours and maintain attendance records. However, it is the responsibility of the employer to maintain and report certification records to the commissioner. Individuals should keep copies of proof of training.
