| | Another Round of 'Musical Claims' in the California WC Industry By Robert Warne - February 2, 2001Employer Occupational Services (EOS) will be closing its San Ramon office on April 30. Claims Manager for EOS, Debbie Flores, confirmed reports that on May 1 the City and County of San Francisco account will change hands.
This account, currently handled by EOS in San Ramon, was put up for bid near the end of last year. On December 11, 2000, at a City and County of San Francisco Department of Human Resources, Workers' Compensation Council meeting, the announcement was made pubic. This announcement named Cambridge Integrated Services Group, Inc. as the new Third Party Administrator for WCD and the Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA).
Sources informed adjustercom.com that Cambridge would handle these claims in a new office in Oakland.
Flores assured adjustercom.com that there wouldn't be lay-offs associated with the closing of the EOS San Ramon location. Employees would have the opportunity to transfer to either the EOS office in Oakland or San Francisco.
Despite this assurance, adjustercom.com has been fielding rumors of imminent pink slips in the San Ramon office.
The City and County of San Francisco account isn't the only thing Cambridge has received from EOS. Theresa Suttles, who was the VP of Workers' Compensation at EOS, has taken a position at Cambridge.
