CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson, was murdered just 11 days ago. Now claims handling will likely be changed forever. Andrew Witty, the CEO of United Health Group, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare, said according to the L.A. Times that his company shares some responsibility for a lack of understanding of coverage decisions. Witty was quoted by the L.A. Times writer, Michael R. Sisak:
“We know the health system does not work as well as it should; and we understand people’s frustrations with it. No one would design a system like the one we have. And no one did. It’s a patchwork built over decades. Our mission is to help make it work better.”
